Liverpool have been so blessed to have Arne Slot as the man that replaced Jurgen Klopp with Gary Neville now saying it was “the perfect coaching performance.”
When Klopp announced he was leaving the club, supporters felt into a kind of depression. It really did seem as though the best days at Anfield were coming to an end.
To make matters worse, Klopp looked destined to be followed out the door by all three of Mohamed Salah, Virgil van Dijk and Trent Alexander-Arnold and yet Slot has defied the odds.
Not only did Slot win the Premier League in hist first season but along with Michael Edwards and Richard Hughes, the club’s two most important player (van Dijk and Salah) are set to play another two seasons with the Reds.
And now, while Liverpool have yet to win a game since winning the league, they are are already moving onto transfer business with a deal to sign Jeremie Frimpong pretty much complete.

Speaking live on Sky Sports after Liverpool lost 3-2 to Brighton at the AMEX Stadium on Monday evening, Neville put his biases aside as he praised the Reds manager for taking Liverpool to title number 20.
“[Slot’s] made up for [replacing Jurgen Klopp’s personality] and more and compensated with it with his composure, a little bit of steely determination, some big decisions, how he’s managed the three contract situations throughout the whole season,” Neville said.
“It’s been the perfect coaching performance. He’s the best newcomer in the Premier League, winning it in his first season.”
Arne Slot has earnerd himself years of goodwill with Liverpool fans
Assuming some terrible happens and Liverpool don’t win any silverware next year, Arne Slot will not need to stress too much as winning the Premier League in his first season will have no doubt earned him plenty of time on Merseyside.
That being said, the Dutch coach is so efficient and intelligent that he seems likely to continue as as he started when the 2025/26 seqason kicks off.
