Three Spurs players who could damage Man United’s Europa League title hopes

Manchester United face Tottenham Hotspur in the Europa League final at San Mames on Wednesday evening.

This will be their fourth encounter across all competitions this term. They met twice in the Premier League and once in the Carabao Cup, with Spurs triumphing.

Read on as we look at three Spurs players who could hurt Man United in Wednesday’s clash.

Dominic Solanke

The England international has had a decent debut season with Spurs, scoring 15 goals in 43 games.

Solanke has netted five times and registered four assists in the competition, leading the chart for most goal involvements for Spurs.

He has been a thorn in the flesh of United recently, scoring five goals in his last four games against them.

James Maddison

Manager Ange Postecoglou must have been happy to see the midfielder return in time for this fixture after he picked up a potential season-ending injury in the semi-final first leg win over Bodo/Glimt.

Maddison has played a vital role for Spurs, registering six goal involvements – a tally only bettered by Solanke.

He is always involved in their build-up, averaging 1.7 key passes per game – the most among his teammates.

The England international scored his first goal against United in February when they beat the Red Devils in a Premier League clash on their patch.

Pedro Porro

Porro is one of Postecoglou’s most creative players, and his movement in the right flank makes him a threat for United.

Only Solanke has registered more assists than the Spanish full-back and he has created the most big chances (four) for Spurs. He also ranks first for accurate long balls per game.

Despite his attacking flair, Porro does not neglect his defensive duties. He ranks second among his Spurs peers for interceptions and clearances per game.
