Diogo Dalot is one of three United players set to return in the Europa League final
Ruben Amorim has confirmed Diogo Dalot, Leny Yoro and Joshua Zirkzee could all play for Manchester United against Tottenham in Wednesday's Europa League final.
But the head coach confirmed Matthijs de Ligt wouldn't be involved, despite the Dutchman being a surprise arrival at San Mames with the rest of the United squad on Tuesday evening.
The Dutch centre-back wasn't involved in training at Carrington on Tuesday morning and wasn't named in the travelling squad, but he did arrive with the rest of the squad as they went for a UEFA-arranged walkaround of the San Mames Stadium, offering broadcasters footage ahead of the final.
In his pre-match press conference, Amorim confirmed De Ligt wouldn't return, but there was better news elsewhere. Yoro is available after overcoming a foot injury picked up against West Ham United 10 days ago and Dalot is back in the squad after shaking off a hamstring injury that has kept him sidelined for a month.
The biggest surprise was the sight of forward Zirkzee taking part in training and then being named in the squad. The 23-year-old hasn't featured since suffering a hamstring injury at Newcastle in mid-April and was initially ruled out for the season by Amorim, who is surprised he is now available for the final.
"They recovered quite well. They pushed," he said of Yoro, Dalot and Zirkzee. "Of course we respect the feeling of the player, but we pushed a little bit because they wanted to be part of the team and that is a very, very good sign.

"And it's very good for us. Of course they are limited in the minutes for the game, but they can help us to win the game."
United and Tottenham have taken different approaches in preparing for the final, with Ange Postecoglou resting key players for Spurs in the Premier League, while Amorim has continued to select a strong team.
He is unsure what advantage that will offer come kick-off at San Mames but explained why he had picked such strong teams domestically.
"The advantage I don't know," he said. "You have to see the context. I don't know the context of Tottenham. What I know is that we had the last game against Bilbao, we had that game and then we rested some players because we were afraid of some injuries.
"And then we had a full week to prepare the [Chelsea] game. I felt with five days to the final, the best thing to prepare the final is to give time to the players to play.
"So I cannot respond from the side of Tottenham, but for me it was really clear. We need to compete. The best way to prepare something is to compete and I had that feeling and I pushed the players against West Ham in the end of the game and I felt that against Chelsea we should show something and to prove that when we are focused, when we play our game, we can control any game in any place.
"So it was a good day to compete to prepare the final. That was the idea."
