Manchester City v Bournemouth: Gut Feelings

Manchester City play their final home match of the season as they welcome Bournemouth to the Etihad Stadium. The Blues need the three points to put them on the brink of Champions League qualification going into the final match at Fulham.

By winning their last two matches, Bournemouth could sneak into Europe next season, but they would have to rely on Brighton losing their final game and a combination of results to make it. Suffice to say, it is unlikely, but they can still hope.

The Blues also need to put the disappointment of losing Saturday’s FA Cup final behind them and it may be a bad time for the Cherries to visit.

As always, our team are here to give us their feelings and predictions on how the match will go. Here’s what we think this time.

Saul

Rough weekend loss. They have to respond with all on the line. 3rd is within reach. City get it albeit it will be a struggle. 2-1.

City 2-1 Bournemouth

Thomas

Over the last 15-ish years, City supporters have become accustomed to our beloved Blues coming through in big moments. This season that just hasn’t happened. The lads have had several opportunities to right the ship or salvage a scrap in this dismal campaign, but they have not been able to produce a performance in those situations. With 2 matches left in the season, only Champions League qualification remains to play for. If City can collect 4 points in their last 2, they’ll be playing in the world’s top club competition in the fall. If not, Europa League here we come. All that makes the final home match against Bournemouth something of a must-win. Here’s hoping the Blues can muster just one performance when they need it.

City 2-0 Bournemouth

Will

This game is a must win. It could affect both the summer window and next season if the Blues drop yet more points.

The attack must fix up fast. And I think... they will. They’ll find a way to get it over the line and secure UEFA Champions League for next season.

City 2-1 Bournemouth

Pete

There will be retribution. And Bournemouth will suffer. Actually, they probably won’t but, without one solitary spot on prediction this season, I’m going for broke.

City 7-0 Bournemouth
