Manchester City moved closer to confirming a top-five finish in the Premier League with a 3-1 win over Bournemouth. The Blues are now two points clear in third place with one game to go after a confident performance at the Etihad eased their nerves for the final day.
Omar Marmoush scored the opening goal with a terrific effort that flew in off the post from nearly 30 yards, delighting everyone inside the ground. Kevin De Bruyne inexplicably hit the bar from just a few yards out with the goal gaping to miss the chance to double the lead, but Bernardo Silva would make the scoresheet before the end of the first half.
The second half saw red cards for Mateo Kovacic and Bournemouth's Lewis Cook before Rodri came off the bench for his first appearance since September and Nico Gonzalez added a third. Daniel Jebbison scored late on to make it 3-1. Here are the player ratings from the _Manchester Evening News._
**Ederson:** Some strange shanks from a left foot that is normally on point, leaving Pep Guardiola less than impressed. **5**
**Nunes:** Did really well to get City out of some dangerous situations in the first half with the game in the balance but then gave away the goal. **7**
**Dias:** A few moments where he was too casual and it nearly cost City, balanced out by some better play. **7**
**Akanji:** Struggled to push forward and help City put pressure on, although defensively he improved as the game went on. **6**
**Gvardiol:** Some nice surges down the left wing and he worked well with Marmoush and Erling Haaland. **7**
**Kovacic:** Played really well, right up until the moment where he stupidly pulled Evanilson back as the last man and was sent off. **4**
**Gundogan:** One of his brightest games in a while, full of running and intelligence. Made the second goal. **8**
**Silva:** Showed the limitations going forward that have been clear all season, but kept working and got a goal. **7**
**De Bruyne:** Missed a sitter! And nobody cared. An important win to send off one of the most important players. **7**
**Marmoush:** An incredible goal to take the net off the goal and the roof off the stadium. Slightly erratic otherwise but lively. **8**
**Haaland:** Another game without a goal, although his movement was much better and he was a threat to Bournemouth all game. **7**
