Anthony Edwards' Pregame Decision for Game 1 of Timberwolves-Thunder Turns Heads

As Anthony Edwards traverses his way through the 2025 NBA playoffs, he continues to show the basketball world why he's capable of being the face of the league (even if he doesn't want to be). Edwards and the Minnesota Timberwolves have eliminated two surefire Hall-of-Famers in LeBron James and Stephen Curry in back-to-back series'.

And now, Edwards has his sights set to taking out the presumed NBA MVP this season, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander.

Edwards, at just 23 years of age, continues to show the world his ceiling is still unknown in his fifth season. He, along with Julius Randle, Rudy Gobert, and Naz Reid have the Timberwolves in their second consecutive Western Conference finals (third in franchise history).

With tip-off approaching for Game 1 against the Oklahoma City Thunder, Edwards hit the court inside Paycom Center for pregame warmups. While the arena has music playing ahead of the game, Edwards made the decision to bring his own speaker for his team's half of the court.

His decision was posted to ESPN's official X account, and this move is turning heads on social media.

"Ant with the vibes," @Jinx_Yxurself posted on X.

Another user agrees Edwards is "the face of the league".

"Next level warmup," @EvanGuthrie said on X.

Another user recognized that this brings the feeling of a cookout, "Bro treats the Western Conference Finals like a cookout—vibes first, buckets second."

Some expect Edwards to drop a huge game after this warmup. Another user had this so say, "He's dropping 50 tonight".

Edwards appears to be loose and ready to go ahead of Game 1 against the Thunder. The Timberwolves finished 3-1 against the top-seeded Thunder in the regular season.

Edwards is averaging 26.5 points, 8.0 rebounds, 5.9 assists, 1.5 steals, and 3.5 made 3-pointers per game in this year's playoffs.

The Thunder hold home-court advantage in the Western Conference finals, and tip-off for Game 1 is scheduled for Tuesday night at 8:30 p.m. EDT on ESPN.
