Florian Wirtz news comes as a surprise - and I expect more Liverpool transfers

I'm glad Liverpool look like they are getting their transfer business done early. It's exactly what you want. Don't wait, get it in the bag early so you have the players for pre-season and beat the competition.

[Jeremie Frimpong is a very, very good player](https://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/cody-gakpo-addresses-jeremie-frimpong-31681211). And Florian Wirtz, I haven't seen a great deal of him but what I have seen he looks brilliant, and he's the right age, too.

I'm slightly surprised we're targeting him, though. I thought the priority would be an out-and-out forward. We definitely need one this summer.

Arsenal will also be looking for a striker and they will be desperate to land a big name. If they are competing against Liverpool for a player then the only advantage they have is being in London.

[Liverpool](https://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/all-about/liverpool-fc) are the bigger club, no question. We're also the champions. But players often want to go to London. Their wives and families want to be down there and that's when things can get complicated for Liverpool.

If we're going to sign Wirtz then that means there has to be question marks over the midfield players.

But I expect more transfers, with at least four coming in this summer and more players leaving. That's how the owners like to do business and I think Liverpool will make a fair bit back in sales this summer.

Darwin Nunez is likely to be one of those players, and he won't be the only one Liverpool could cash in on. So it promises to be a really interesting summer on that front.

**Liverpool have the bragging rights**

What a brilliant season it has been. I have absolutely loved it.

Tranmere Rovers stayed up, which means a lot to me. In fact, all of my former clubs did really well this season.

But the main thing is that Liverpool are the champions. We won the league. We're the top dogs.

And with our 20 leagues and six European Cups, we're out on our own. Nobody can challenge us. We have the bragging rights and I absolutely love it.

Liverpool are untouchable, that's the way it should be.
