Leeds United handed new £30m Liverpool update as Daniel Farke eyes clever transfer

Leeds United have their full attention on preparations for the 2025/26 Premier League campaign and have already been linked with a number of players ahead of their return to the top flight.

Daniel Farke knows he'll need to invest into his Whites' squad if he wants to defy recent history and keep Leeds in the top flight.

All six clubs who have won promotion from the Championship over the last two years have been relegated the following season and Leeds want to buck that trend.

There are a number of areas that Leeds need to strengthen, while they still await news regarding Junior Firpo and Sam Byram's future at Elland Road.

LeedsLive has taken a look at the latest transfer news and rumours heading into the upcoming transfer window.

Aston Villa join race to sign Kelleher

The Sun claims Aston Villa are the latest Premier League club to register an interest in Liverpool shot stopper Caomhin Kelleher ahead of the summer transfer window.

The Republic of Ireland international has impressed when called upon by the Reds, but has played second fiddle to Alisson Becker and the arrival of Giorgi Mamardashvili adds further competition for places at Anfield.

The report claims Arne Slot's side will ask for a fee in the region of £30million for Kelleher, who has also been linked with a move to West Ham United and Chelsea this summer.

Villa's interest comes after first choice goalkeeper Emi Martinez appeared to wave goodbye to the Villa Park faithful following their 2-0 win over Spurs last Friday. Kelleher is said to be itching for first-team football and Leeds are said to be keen.

LeedsLive says: "If Leeds want to sign the highly rated Liverpool goalkeeper then they're going to need to act fast. It's no surprise to see yet another Premier League club register and interest in Kelleher and he would be a great option between the sticks at Elland Road next season - for the right price."

Whites move for Croatia international makes sense

TBR Football claim Leeds United and Burnley are plotting a move for versatile Union Berlin defender Josip Juranovic this summer. The Whites know they need to bolster their options on either side of defence, with Firpo and Byram's future not yet decided.

The 29-year-old is under contract with the Bundesliga side until the summer of 2027 and both newly promoted clubs will need to part with a respectable fee for his services, though the exact asking price is not mentioned in the report.

Fulham and West Ham United have also been credited with an interest in the Croatian international, who can play on either side of the defence and in a more advanced wing-back position.

LeedsLive says: "A move for Juranovic is certainly one that makes sense on paper given Leeds' need to bolster their ranks on either side of defence. An attack minded full-back, he'd certainly fit into Farke's style-of-play."
