Alexander Isak chasing Premier League Player of the Season - vote now

Newcastle United's English head coach Eddie Howe (L) applauds as Newcastle United's Swedish striker #14 Alexander Isak celebrates on stage

The Premier League season is drawing to a close, with Newcastle United still on the hunt for Champions League football as the final day draws in. With the end of the league comes the results of the public vote for the competition's player of the season - and Alexander Isak has a strong claim to that prize.

Fans of clubs across England were voting on the official award up until midday Monday, with a number of stars on the shortlist - and fans still able to vote in our poll below. Liverpool were well represented as the title winners of this campaign, with Mohamed Salah enjoying one of his best seasons since signing for that club. Teammates Ryan Gravenberch and Reds stalwart Virgil van Dijk are also on the list.

Nottingham Forest duo Morgan Gibbs-White and Chris Wood are in the running too, having both had excellent seasons and helping their team bounce back in style from relegation worries in the previous term.

Brentford's right winger Bryan Mbeumo was on the shortlist, having helped the mid-table team with a haul of 19 goals and 8 assists so far, and he could break 20 in the final match. Newcastle United have an eye on Mbeumo for the summer transfer window, with a reported £54 million asking price, but will have to fend off Manchester United to make that deal happen.

Arsenal midfielder Declan Rice is up for the award too, having seen his team through to the Champions League semi-finals and secured second place for the Gunners in their challenge to eventual winners Liverpool.

Star Newcastle United man Alexander Isak rounds out the list, having been nominated for the second season running. Isak has scored 23 times and made eight assists in the league, only behind Mohamed Salah as the Premier League's top scorer.

Vote below - who should be the Premier League's player of the season? Would you have added another name to the shortlist?
