Julian Alvarez summer exit ruled out by Atletico Madrid chief

Atletico Madrid president Enrique Cerezo has ruled out selling Julian Alvarez this summer as the Argentine continues to be linked with a return to the Premier League.

The 2022 World Cup winner left Manchester City last summer to sign for the LaLiga side in a deal worth £82m. However, his impressive performances in the Spanish capital have seen him linked with a move to Liverpool, as well as rivals Barcelona.

But Cerezo has ruled out the possibility of selling Alvarez this summer and insisted the forward "will die" at Atletico.

Asked by Esport3 about Alvarez's future, Cerezo said: "Julian Alvarez is a player of Atletico de Madrid. He’s very happy here, he is our player and he will remain our player.

"He was raised at Atletico Madrid and he will die at Atletico Madrid.”

Liverpool face Manchester City transfer competition

Liverpool will reportedly face competition from Manchester City for the signing of Bournemouth defender Milos Kerkez.

The i paper claims the Etihad outfit want to sign the Hungary international this summer and have enquired to Bournemouth about a potential deal.

Kerkez, who moved to the Premier League from AZ Alkmaar in 2023, has been one of the breakout stars of the season and is said to be valued at £45m.

The left-back has three years remaining on his deal.
