West Ham defender Emerson may have been celebrating his stunning free-kick against Arsenal, which won the club’s Goal of the Season, but Graham Potter still wants him out.
As Claret & Hugh first reported at the end of last year, the Italy international is a target for several Serie A clubs, and despite Potter’s arrival, the 30-year-old’s situation hasn’t improved.
In fact, Emerson has become even more marginalised since Julen Lopetegui’s departure, with Ollie Scarles, Aaron Wan-Bissaka, and even Vladimir Coufal all preferred at left-back under Potter.

A top transfer source confirmed to Claret & Hugh last night that Emerson is “expected to be one of the first out the door this summer.”
The former Chelsea man has been a solid servant for the Hammers and played a crucial role in West Ham’s Europa Conference League triumph in Prague.
However, it’s telling that neither Lopetegui nor Potter appeared to believe Emerson could consistently complete 90 minutes of Premier League football. Despite his moment of brilliance this season, his West Ham future looks over.
