**West Ham** are keeping a close eye on towering Swiss defender Aurèle Amenda, but securing a [transfer](https://www.claretandhugh.info/west-ham-transfer-news/) deal for the centre-back may prove tricky.
That’s according to Irons ITK [ExWHUEmployee](https://x.com/ExWHUEmployee), who has provided the latest behind-the-scenes update from the London Stadium.
Ex reports that the Hammers are admirers of the 6ft 5in Eintracht Frankfurt star, who only recently joined the Bundesliga side from Young Boys, where he progressed through the academy.
Amenda joined Frankfurt on 1 July 2024, having agreed the move following a stellar campaign in Switzerland, where he made 45 appearances and helped Young Boys win both the Swiss Super League and Swiss Cup.
The 20-year-old centre-half made his senior debut at just 18 and has already featured for Switzerland in the Nations League, having risen swiftly through the youth ranks.
However, with Frankfurt having only just secured his services, West Ham would likely need to submit a substantial offer to convince the German club to part with the highly rated defender.
If Ex’s sources are correct again, Amenda is the latest name on a growing list of young targets being tracked by West Ham as Head of Recruitment Kyle Macaulay begins the long process of lowering the average age of what is currently the Premier League’s oldest squad.
