The 2024/25 UEFA Champions League concludes at the Munich Football Arena as Paris Saint-Germain meet Inter Milan for the first time.
Paris have never won the European Cup, losing to Bayern München in their sole previous final appearance, in Lisbon in 2020.
Inter, meanwhile, are looking to be crowned European champions for the fourth time – and a second in the Champions League era after their 2010 defeat of Bayern in Madrid. They have reached this stage for the second time in three seasons, Simone Inzaghi's side going down 0-1 to Manchester City in Istanbul in 2023.
Final focus
This is the second European Cup final between teams from France and Italy. The first remains the only time a Ligue 1 club has lifted the trophy – Marseille beating Inter's neighbours AC Milan 1-0 at the Olympiastadion in Munich in the 1993 Champions League.
That is one of four European Cup finals to be played in Munich – with the first three at the Olympiastadion, this is the second at the Munich Football Arena, after 2012:
1978/79: Nottingham Forest 1-0 Malmö
1992/93: Marseille 1-0 AC Milan
1996/97: Borussia Dortmund 3-1 Juventus
2011/12: Chelsea 1-1 Bayern (aet; 4-3 pens)
Each of the previous four finals played in Munich produced a first-time winner.
Final pedigree
Paris
This is Paris' second European Cup final:
2019/20: Bayern München 1-0 Paris
Paris could become the 24th side to win the European Cup and a new name on the trophy for the second time in three seasons, after Manchester City beat Inter in 2023.
Only one French side has ever won the trophy, Marseille beating AC Milan in 1993. Reims (1956, 1959), St-Étienne (1976), Marseille (1991), Monaco (2004) and Paris themselves (2020) were all losing finalists.
This is Paris' fifth final in a major UEFA competition; their record is W1 L3:
1995/96 Cup Winners' Cup W 1-0 vs Rapid Wien
1996 Super Cup L 2-9 agg vs Juventus (1-6 h, 1-3 a)
1996/97 Cup Winners' Cup L 0-1 vs Barcelona
2019/20 Champions League L 0-1 vs Bayern München
A Champions League winner as Barcelona coach in 2014/15, Luis Enrique is only the tenth coach to reach the European Cup final with different clubs. Only six have won the trophy with multiple teams: Ernst Happel (Feyenoord 1970, Hamburg 1983), Ottmar Hitzfeld (Dortmund 1997, Bayern 2001), José Mourinho (Porto 2004, Inter 2010), Jupp Heynckes (Real Madrid 1998, Bayern 2013), Carlo Ancelotti (AC Milan 2003, 2007; Real Madrid 2014, 2022, 2024) and Pep Guardiola (Barcelona 2009, 2011; Manchester City 2023).
Inter
Inter's record in European Cup finals is W3 L3:
1963/64: Inter 3-1 Real Madrid
1964/65: Inter 1-0 Benfica
1966/67: Celtic 2-1 Inter
1971/72: Ajax 2-0 Inter
2009/10: Inter 2-0 Bayern
2022/23: Manchester City 1-0 Inter
Victory would take Inter on to four European Cups, level with Ajax and behind only Real Madrid (15), Milan (seven), Bayern München, Liverpool (both six) and Barcelona (five). They are currently on three alongside Manchester United.
Inter are the last Italian side to win the Champions League; indeed, only one other Serie A club has featured in the final since they beat Bayern in Madrid 13 years ago, Juventus losing in 2015 and 2017 to Barcelona and Real Madrid respectively.
Italian clubs have triumphed in 12 European Cup finals, losing 17. In the Champions League era their record is five wins and nine defeats.
The Nerazzurri lost 3-2 to Sevilla in the 2020 UEFA Europa League final, meaning their record in UEFA finals overall W8 L6.
Inter have won three of their five UEFA Cup/ Europa League finals, both European/South American Cups and lost to Atlético de Madrid in the 2010 UEFA Super Cup.
Previous meetings
This is the teams' first fixture. It is the second time in three seasons the Champions League final has been contested by teams who have never previously met – after Inter's 2023 defeat by Manchester City.

Paris' most recent games against Italian opposition came in last season's group stage, when they beat Inter's neighbours Milan 3-0 at home but lost 1-2 away.
That defeat at San Siro ended Paris' ten-game unbeaten run against Serie A sides (W4 D6) – and a sequence of four successive victories. They had lost seven of the eight preceding fixtures (W1).
In addition to their defeat by Juventus in the 1996 Super Cup, Paris beat Brescia on away goals in a 2001 UEFA Intertoto Cup final (0-0 h, 1-1 a).
Fifteenth in this season's league phase, Paris were 10-0 aggregate winners against fellow French side Brest in the knockout phase play-offs (3-0 a, 7-0 h) before beating three successive English clubs – Liverpool in the round of 16 (0-1 h, 1-0 a aet, 4-1 pens), Aston Villa in the quarter-finals (3-1 h, 2-3 a) and Arsenal in the semi-finals (1-0 a, 2-1 h).

Paris have not been involved in a goalless draw in the Champions League since drawing 0-0 with Real Madrid in the 2015/16 group stage – 98 matches ago.
Marquinhos became the first player to make 100 Champions League appearances for a French team in the first leg at Brest in February. Now on 106 appearances, the Brazilian is also only the 15th to have played for a single team in the Champions League, and one of only seven centurions overall without a winner's medal.
Paris have already played at the Munich Football Arena this season, losing 0-1 against Bayern on Matchday 5. Their record at the Munich Football Arena is W1 D0 L3; overall in Munich it is W2 D0 L5.
The French club have lost nine of their 17 games in Germany, winning five. A 4-1 success at Stuttgart on Matchday 8 this season ended a five-game run without a victory (D2 L3) and was only their second win in their last ten visits (D2 L6).

That was Inter's first fixture with a French team since the 2014/15 UEFA Europa League group stage, when they drew home (0-0) and away (1-1) against St-Étienne.
A 1-0 defeat at Marseille in the 2011/12 Champions League round of 16 first leg – a tie they went on to lose on away goals after a 2-1 home success in the second leg – is Inter's only reverse in their last seven games against Ligue 1 teams. This season's victory against Monaco was, however, only Inter's fourth in their last 13 contests (D5 L4).
This is Inter's first European final against a French team.

Inter’s 7-6 aggregate victory against Barcelona was the joint-highest scoring Champions League knockout tie, along with Liverpool's defeat of Roma by the same scoreline in the 2017/18 semi-finals.
The Nerazzurri have won ten Champions League matches this season, their highest total in a single European season, surpassing the nine in their victorious 1993/94 UEFA Cup campaign.
Inter have lost only one of their 14 Champions League matches this season (W10 D3) and are unbeaten in the last eight (W6 D2). They have opened the scoring in 11 of their 14 games.
Lautaro Martínez has nine Champions League goals this season – equalling Hernán Crespo's club record set in 2002/03.
