Manchester City fans witnessed Kevin De Bruyne play at the Etihad Stadium for the final time on Tuesday night.
The Belgian started the contest against Bournemouth and played his part in a huge win for the Manchester club as they overcame the Cherries with a 3-1 scoreline, which was helped courtesy of a stunning Omar Marmoush goal.
The night turned out to be a perfect one for Man City as they secured the win, played well, got to say farewell to De Bruyne, and even saw the return of Rodri after being out for months with a knee injury.
Tributes have poured in for De Bruyne since the full-time whistle went at the Etihad Stadium, and Leroy Sane was one of the Belgian’s former teammates who sent him a lovely message.

Leroy Sane sends Kevin De Bruyne a farewell message
Sane played with De Bruyne at Man City between 2016 and 2020 before the German winger made the switch to Bayern Munich, where he still remains.
The two players were instrumental during the early days of the Pep Guardiola era at the Manchester club, and having benefitted from the Belgian’s assists for years, Sane decided to pay tribute to the midfielder on his big night with a message on X (formerly known as Twitter).

“One of the best players the Premier League has ever seen. Thank you, legend KDB,” the Bayern Munich star wrote.
Fans of the Manchester club loved the message as Sane was a fan favourite at the Etihad for his style of play and character, with Kyle Walker recently stating that the former Man City star used to fall asleep during team meetings, which highlights what he was like.
Throughout their time at Man City, Sane and De Bruyne were on the pitch together 93 times, with the Manchester club earning 2.35 points per game when both players were present.
Sane enjoyed his career in Manchester, and many wonder what he could have achieved if the winger had remained at the Etihad Stadium for a few more years.
Leroy Sane’s career at Man City
Sane spent four years at Man City, where he racked up 135 appearances for the Manchester club, scoring 39 goals and assisting a further 44.
The German star won every English title while being a part of Guardiola’s squad, and he may have the chance to add more as Sane is a free agent this summer, which is an option Man City should consider should Bernardo Silva and Jack Grealish leave the club.
Fans of the Premier League giants would love to see the winger back in sky blue, but that is unlikely to happen, which leaves them to remember the great career he already had at Man City.
