Ex-Manchester United striker Dwight Yorke is hoping that Leny Yoro will be fit to face Tottenham on Wednesday night.
The Red Devils are sweating over the fitness of the 19-year-old, who has missed the last two games with a foot injury he sustained during the 2-0 defeat to West Ham. Speaking to GamblingIndustryNews, Yorke said Yoro’s return would be a “huge” boost for Ruben Amorim’s side:
“I think it’s crucial that he’s fit. Having said that, I don’t want to get overexcited by him just yet. He’s a young player, he’s still developing. He’s getting better, but there’s an exceptional young player there and I want to give him a chance.”

“If he’s fit, he gives us a little bit more security at the back. He’s got an athletic side to him, he can get around the park. He can give his teammates at the back some cover so it will be huge if he’s fit to play on Wednesday.”
Man United injury news ahead of the Europa League final
In addition to Yoro, Amorim also has concerns over the fitness of Matthijs de Ligt, who has not played since the 4-3 defeat to Brentford at the start of May due to a knee problem.
Diogo Dalot has been out for even longer with a calf issue but there is optimism that he will return to the matchday squad to face Spurs.
However, Jonny Evans (back), Joshua Zirkzee (hamstring) and Lisandro Martinez (ACL) have all been ruled out.
Heaven’s return gives Amorim more options
With Yoro and de Ligt doubts heading into the final, there were concerns that the Red Devils would have to field Victor Lindelof and Luke Shaw in the back three. While both are experienced players, there are questions about their mobility and fitness levels.
Ayden Heaven’s comeback after two months out against Chelsea on Friday was, therefore, welcomed. The teenager’s availability means he can provide cover at left centre-back if required.
