Sam Allardyce will be remembered fondly for the job he once did as West Ham United manager.

West Ham have just one game left to play in the Premier League before their attentions turn elsewhere ahead of the summer transfer window.

Recruitment at the London Stadium is going to play a crucial role in the success that the Irons can find next season, and their supporters will need to see signs of progression after what has been a dismal campaign.

West Ham fans have had very little to shout home about this season, but that didn’t stop Allardyce from hailing them in a recent video.

Allardyce praises West Ham fans despite dismal campaign

Being a West Ham fan has not been easy this season, and the main reason for that is the shortcomings they have demonstrated in the Premier League.

The Hammers can finish as low as 17th in the table come the end of it, showcasing just how far they have regressed since they lifted a European trophy not so long ago.

However, the one thing that has remained consistent throughout the season is the support, and with an average attendance of over 62,000, Allardyce has praised the Hammers’ support.

When quizzed via TagSportsNW as to who the most passionate fans he’s ever had have been, he was quick to mention West Ham.

He said: “I managed West Ham at Wembley in the play-off final against Blackpool, and there must have been 65,000 West Ham fans and about 20,000 Blackpool fans. But the noise was deafening.”

Potter needs to give back to the Irons next season

First and foremost, it remains to be seen whether Potter will be in charge next season, but if so, he has a remarkable amount of work to do in order to turn things around.

His job at the London Stadium so far has been dreadful, and the Hammers fans deserve something they can be proud of next time out.

This summer will be huge for the Irons, and it is imperative that they make the right decisions.
