Ola Aina sends message to Nottingham Forest supporter on social media ahead of Chelsea clash

Nottingham Forest have a big game to look forward to this weekend and Ola Aina could be in line to get one over his former club against Chelsea.

The Reds have kept the Champions League dream alive and kicking with a 2-1 win over West Ham and supporters are now extremely excited for Sunday’s game against the Blues.

Aina has been an instrumental player for Forest this season, and it would appear that his future beyond this season has been resolved, with a one-year extension now triggered.

The 28-year-old has been playing as a right-back this season after excelling at left-back during his maiden campaign at the club in 2023/24.

It would appear as though Aina has been keeping tabs on what the fans are saying on social media and he’s asking the fan base to remain positive this weekend.

The Reds will face Chelsea at the City Ground on Sunday, looking to bring the curtain down on the campaign in style and try to qualify for the Champions League.

One fan sent Aina a concerned message on Snapchat, which read: “Laughing and smiling like we’ve got Champions League football next season. Get ready for next week, boss.”

Aina took offence to the nature of the message, however, and fired back with a strong message ahead of the huge game on Sunday.

He said: “Listen mate, just learn to enjoy the process. Whether that be football, society, just learn to enjoy the process. You’re sounding very stressed, you get me, just enjoy life, man.”

Aina will be in the mix for Player of the Year

For many months, Aina’s future has been a little bit concerning, with a host of clubs linked with signing him in the summer for free.

Alas, Forest have managed to trigger a clause to ensure a one-year extension and will now work on a longer-term deal for a player who has been magnificent this season.

Aina has been fantastic during the campaign, playing as a right-back, having spent the 2023/24 campaign operating as a left-back.

Now, the 28-year-old is one of the team’s most integral players and it definitely bodes well that he’s feeling calm and relaxed ahead of Sunday’s clash against Chelsea.
