Everton table offer for Danish defender – Club looking to offload this summer

There’s a claim in the Turkish media that Everton are still showing interest in Galatasaray defender Elias Jelert.

The Dane has previously been linked with a move to Goodison Park after failing to make an impact since his transfer to the Super Lig champions last summer.

Yenicag Gazetesi today report on the latest developments regarding the future of the young right back, and state Galatasaray are looking to offload him during the next transfer window.

It’s claimed a number of clubs are monitoring the situation with Jelert, with Everton being one of those.

According to the Turkish media outlet, the Premier League side have come in with an offer for the 21-year-old.

His agent is said to have been looking for a new club since January. There’s no further information on the offer and it sounds like something which has been sourced by the agent.

Everton should expect to face competition in the race to sign the Denmark international following reports unnamed Spanish teams have also made offers for him. Gala will reportedly be looking to recoup the €9m they paid out for Jelert last summer, but a loan move is still seen as an option.

He’s made 30 appearances since joining Galatasaray and is contracted to Cimbom until June 2029.
