“I know there was the chatter this week about Philly and having possible interest,” Stein said on the PHNX Sports podcast. “When I’ve checked out that scenario, it’s been strongly debunked to me. I do not think Philly is in the market for trying to pursue Kevin Durant. So yeah, I don’t foresee the Sixers emerging as a candidate there.”

Durant’s name has popped up in speculation since the Phoenix Suns early playoff exit, sparking questions about his future. But according to Stein, nothing has changed behind the scenes.

“Look, I think there’s really nothing new at this point,” Stein added. “The consistent word on this has been that the Suns and Team Durant are going to work together on a possible resolution, if that is indeed the direction they’re going to go.”

The 36-year-old veteran still played at an elite level this past season. He averaged 26.6 points, 6.0 rebounds, and 4.2 assists per game while shooting an efficient 52.7% from the field and 43.0% from beyond the arc.
