‘Fake news’ – Nuno Espirito Santo and Lina Souloukou claims rubbished, with very direct reason given

On Tuesday, Nottingham Forest manager Nuno Espirito Santo was linked with a move to AS Roma.

There was talk that an approach had been made for the Portuguese manager, with the Giallorossi keen on the move.

Corriere dello Sport today have taken a further look at Nuno’s future at Nottingham Forest and they do not believe that the claims hold any truth.

They note that the common link between the two clubs is Nottingham Forest CEO Lina Souloukou, who arrived after a period at Roma under the Friedkins. Her presence in Rome yesterday had been a key factor pushing the Nuno rumour, and encouraging talk of a Nottingham Forest exit.

However, the Italian newspaper now state Souloukou actually lives in Rome with her husband and children, who go to a prestigious international school in the city and also play football there. From Rome, Souloukou commutes to England regularly.

Through this, Corriere dello Sport trash the Giallorossi’s links with Nuno as ‘fake news’.

Further, they have a separate report which mentions that the ex-Tottenham manager is not even on Roma’s shortlist and they will look at other candidates, as they continue to search for a Claudio Ranieri’s successor.
