Two Manchester United Players Included In Crawford's Ireland U21 Squad

Ireland U21s head coach Jim Crawford has named his squad for friendlies against Croatia and Qatar next month.

There are five first-time call-ups to the squad with Manchester United academy player Jacob Devaney appearing in an Ireland U21 squad for the first time.

Devaney is English-born but he has played for Ireland's U19 side and qualifies through Irish grandparents from Dublin and Mayo.

Jack Moorhouse also of Manchester United's academy is included in the squad, the midfielder made his debut for Ireland against Scotland in a friendly match back in March and he's been a regular member of matchday squads for the senior team in 2025 under Ruben Amorim.

League of Ireland players in Ireland U21 squad

Cork City star Cathal O’Sullivan is one of several League of Ireland players to receive a call to play for the Young Boys in Green.

O’Sullivan, 18, has garnered a lot of praise for his performances this season.

Drogheda United's Warren Davis, Shamrock Rovers Cory O'Sullivan, St Patrick's Athletic forward Mason Melia, Sligo Rovers striker Jad Hakiki along with Bohemian's loanee defender Seán Grehan complete the home-based players.

Cathal O'Sullivan, Davis and Cory O'Sullivan also received their first call-ups to the Ireland U21 squad.

Exactly two-thirds of Crawford's are currently playing in, or came through the League of Ireland and its academy system. Nine are aged below 20.

Zagreb is where Crawford’s Ireland U21 side will complete their final preparation for the European Championship qualifiers in September. They face Croatia on Friday, 6 June, before facing Qatar’s Under-23s on Tuesday, 10 June.
