Everton have been in contact with AJ Auxerre defender Sinaly Diomandé about a potential move this summer.
That’s [according to Africa Foot](https://africafoot.com/sinaly-diomande-dans-les-plans-dun-club-de-premier-league/), who report that Diomandé is attracting interest from several European clubs. Everton are one of those interested in him.
They explain that after taking some time to establish himself at the French club after a disappointing stint at Lyon, Diomandé has revealed his full potential at Auxerre.
He’s managed 23 appearances in Ligue 1 this season, with three goals and two assists to his name despite being a centre-back. He can also play at right-back.
His performances haven’t gone unnoticed, and Everton are considering a move for him. Africa Foot state this is because Jarrad Branthwaite continues to be courted, and the Blues are anticipating a possible departure.
Diomandé is seen as a ‘credible’ option for David Moyes and his team, and they have begun discussions with his entourage about a potential move.
There’s no mention of an asking price, but it is stated that Diomandé is valued at €5m on sites such as Transfermarkt. Negotiations between the various parties are believe to be ‘well underway’ either way.
Much will likely depend on Everton’s plans for the summer, with Michael Keane also currently set to be out of contract and their defensive options needing reinforcements if he goes.
