Sporting director flying to England for talks over £60m Manchester United player – Offer being lined up

There’s a claim in the Turkish media that Fenerbahce are to step up their pursuit for Manchester United forward Rasmus Højlund.

The Dane has been linked with a move to the Super Lig side in the past week as Jose Mourinho looks to sign a centre forward this summer.

Fener will be in the market for a new No.9 in the summer with Edin Džeko’s contract expiring at the end of the season. Cenk Tosun and Youssef En-Nesyri could also leave.

Fotomac today report on the Istanbul side’s interest in the attacker and they state the club’s sporting director Mario Branco will travel to England to hold transfer talks with Manchester United.

It’s claimed Fenerbahce want to loan Højlund, with an option to purchase, as was previously reported.

The Denmark international has endured a difficult season for the Manchester United, which has led to speculation he could be offloaded in the summer. There have also been rumours he could return to Serie A following his time with Atalanta.

Højlund has made 50 appearances this season, scoring ten goals. He’s contracted to the Red Devils until June 2028.
