According to a claim in the Turkish media, Besiktas are showing interest in Southampton defender Jan Bednarek.
With Southampton being relegated back to the Championship it’s certain multiple players will leave St Mary’s this summer the Poland international is a prime candidate.
Takvim today report on Besiktas’ interest in the central defender as Ole Gunnar Solskjær looks to improve his squad this summer.
The Norwegian was only installed as Black Eagles manager late into the January window and has yet to bring in his own players. Solskjær is keen to strengthen his defence ahead of the next campaign, and in particularly wants a centre-back.
It’s claimed Besiktas will soon make contract with Southampton with regards to Bednarek and that he is one of their central defender options going into the summer transfer window.
Bednarek himself is said to be keen on a move away from Southampton as he’s not keen on playing in the Championship.
The defender has made 34 appearances this season, scoring two goals. He’s contracted to Southampton until June 2027.
