With a big signing on the radar ahead of the move to the Hill Dickinson Stadium, the Friedkins could really make a splash this summer in the market.

Everton are showing an interest in Rayan Cherki from Lyon as he looks set to depart the French club.

According to L’Equipe, Lyon are looking for a fee in the region of €40m (£34m) for Cherki to move on over the coming months.

It is not just Everton who are showing an interest in the Frenchman, with a host of European powerhouses also on the scene.

Liverpool are also keen on Cherki following a seriously impressive 2024/25 campaign.

It would certainly be some coup for the Toffees to secure the signature of such an in-demand player, but they will certainly have the financial power to prise him away from France.

Cherki is being tipped as a future Ballon d’Or winner

Following the Ligue 1 conclusion at the weekend, Cherki left the pitch in tears as it appeared to be his final game for Lyon.

Any club will feel lucky to land a player of the youngster’s potential as he is being tipped to become one of Europe’s top talents.

The Athletic have labelled the 21-year-old as a ‘future Ballon d’Or winner’ which goes to show just how big a signing this could be for Everton.
