Manchester United Lock in Four Key Transfer Targets

Manchester United are getting ready for a major transfer shake-up under new boss Ruben Amorim.

Cunha and Delap Drive Manchester United Summer Transfer Overhaul

Manchester United are establishing a foothold in preparation for a busy summer transfer window. Jason Wilcox and Omar Berrada are moving fast to back new manager Ruben Amorim. After a poor 2024/25 campaign that saw the club finish with their lowest points tally ever. It is clear that they need a good striker.

The Red Devils are having an awful season at scoring, having only scored 42 goals all year. That is worse than all but Everton among non-relegated teams. Now, Utd are planning a major shake-up in attack this June.

Wolves Matheus Cunha is likely to be the first in. The club is ready to trigger his £62.5 million release clause. The Brazilian has been on Utd’s radar for months and is excited about the move. Alongside him, Ipswich Town’s Liam Delap is also in talks for a potential switch. Utd have already held face-to-face meetings and are expected to meet his £30 million clause soon. Both players will bring fresh firepower to a side in desperate need of attacking edge.

Sales to Fund More Signings as Amorim Eyes Rebuild

While Cunha and Delap are top priorities, Utd’s rebuild won’t stop there. Amorim wants at least one more forward. Viktor Gyokeres from Sporting CP high on the wishlist. But, Arsenal are working with similar objectives.

The fates of current strikers Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee may determine if a third striker could happen. Red Devils are willing to sell some first-team players, like Antony, Rashford, Sancho, and Malacia to finance another signing. If those sales go through, they could make further moves for talents like Rayan Cherki. He is available for under £20 million. Meanwhile, Brentford’s Bryan Mbeumo may cost closer to £60 million.

Defensive reinforcements are also on the table. Some of the names linked to United are Emilano Martinez, Theo Hernandez, and Pedro Goncalves. United are now in full steam in rebuilding the squad for a stronger 2025/26 season.
