**Bruno Guimaraes' future is always fun for journalists to speculate on, and that's why the Newcastle United captain is never far away from a mad transfer story.**
Indeed, just a couple of weeks ago, [Bruno Guimaraes was linked with a move to another PIF-owned club](https://nufcfeed.com/baffling-newcastle-united-transfer-story-has-appeared-from-brazilian-media-might-just-be-the-most-nonsensical-yet-1310554), Al-Hilal, this summer, which we instantly declared to be pure hogwash.
We don't believe for one second that Bruno Guimaraes will be for sale this summer, and we definitely don't believe that the PIF would weaken Newcastle, their flagship club, to strengthen one of their Pro League teams.
However, as ridiculous as that story was, it hasn't stopped there from being a Part Two.

Al-Ittihad are the latest Saudi Pro League side linked with Bruno Guimaraes
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Reports are now coming out that Saudi Pro League side Al-Ittihad are set to make a £100 million move for Bruno Guimaraes, and it has even been reported by ESPN's Brazilian journalist Gustavo Hofman.
Perhaps the most unbelievable part of this story, and indeed the main reason I'm sniffing the air for the smell of toast, is that they claim that Al-Ittihad will activate Bruno's €120 million (£101 million) release clause.
Now, correct me if I'm wrong, but we are well past this whole release clause drama, are we not?
Isn't Bruno Guimaraes' release clause a thing of the past?
----------------------------------------------------------
Bruno did indeed have a £100 million release clause inserted into his last contract, but it was active only for a very brief window, which closed before the PSR deadline, making it borderline impossible for anyone to activate it.
Does it come around every year? What's going on? Or are ESPN just reaching to make the story more believable?
Whatever the reality, we're not buying it. Bruno is going nowhere and the PIF certainly won't rob Peter to pay Paul on this one. File this one in the bin.
