Manchester United have the chance to partially salvage what has been a wretched season in Wednesday night’s Europa League final against fellow Premier League strugglers Tottenham. With the teams sitting 16th and 17th in the league table, the showpiece of UEFA’s second club competition provides a chance for silverware and, perhaps more importantly, Champions League qualification. Here is the Manchester United predicted lineup for the final at Athletic Bilbao’s San Mames Stadium (Kick off: 8PM BST).

How Manchester United Have Lined-up Recently
Ruben Amorim’s side have consistently lined up in a 3-4-2-1 formation, with under-fire André Onana first-choice between the sticks.
At centre-back, three of Victor Lindelof, Harry Maguire, Luke Shaw, Lény Yoro and Noussair Mazraoui have started of late, with the manager rotating to prioritise European competition.

At wing-back, Mazraoui and Amad Diallo have taken turns on the right, with Patrick Dorgu and youth prospect Harry Amass rotating on the left.
In the middle of the park, a reborn Casemiro, Manuel Ugarte, and talismanic captain Bruno Fernandes have each had minutes, with Fernandes, Amad, fit-again Mason Mount and Alejandro Garnacho rotating in the two number 10 positions. Rasmus Hojlund has been leading the line on a consistent basis.
Manchester United Recent Form and Tactics
The contrast in the Red Devils’ form domestically and in Europe couldn’t be starker, with Amorim’s beleaguered squad having won just four times in 2025, three of those victories coming against the hapless relegated trio of Ipswich Town, Leicester City and Southampton. Recent defeats on the list include Chelsea, West Ham, Brentford and Wolves, with the team finding solace as the only unbeaten team remaining in European competitions, dispatching the likes of Bilbao, Real Sociedad and, most dramatically, Lyon on their way to Wednesday’s final.
Manchester United Injuries to Consider
Amorim received positive news on the injury front this week as Joshua Zirkzee, Lény Yoro and Diogo Dalot all returned to first-team training, although it remains to be seen which of the trio will be fit enough to start on Wednesday. The final has come too soon for Matthijs de Ligt, with the Dutchman expected back in the coming week or two. Lisandro Martinez and Jonny Evans will be out for the rest of the season.
