Player admits he, former teammate and manager still talk about West Ham experience

Former West Ham United striker Lucas Pérez has revealed he still talks to goalkeeper Adrian and manager Manuel Pellegrini about their time at the club.

Pérez shared a dressing room with Pellegrini and Adrian in 2018, with all three uniting at West Ham under the Chilean boss.

The striker was only with the Hammers for a year after joining from Arsenal for €4.4m, while Pellegrini’s stint was also a short one, joining in 2018 and leaving by December the following year.

Adrian’s association was a longer one. He was at the club for six years after joining on a free transfer from Real Betis in 2013. He left for Liverpool in 2019.

It meant all three spent a year in London together before going their separate ways, but the striker remembers the time fondly and the reception that he was given by both at the time.

And he admits they still discuss their time together at West Ham to this day, whenever they get a chance to talk.

“He’s been great with me; he opened the doors of his house to me and introduced me to everyone. That’s something to be thankful for,” he said of the goalkeeper.

“The person I’m in most contact with is Adrián. I also get along very well with his wife from my time in London. Naturally, I also get along with the Engineer, with Manuel (Pellegrini). We reminisce about England. I’m very happy about what’s happening to them.”
