Transfer strategy pays off as Wolves set to pay €27m for player – €15m profit for club

Celta Vigo are set to see their planning paid off this summer, with Jorgen Strand Larsen joining Wolverhampton Wanderers in a €27m deal.

[Marca explain the situation today](https://www.marca.com/futbol/premier-league/2025/05/21/strand-larsen-da-razon-luis-campos-tienes-egoista.html), reporting that Larsen is set to bring €27m into the Spanish club’s coffers as his loan move to Wolves will become permanent.

The striker joined Wolves in the summer transfer window on a season-long loan which included an obligation for it to become permanent.

He’s proven to be a hit at Molineux, particularly under Vitor Pereira, with 14 goals in the Premier League this season and three assists as well.

That’ll see the move made permanent for €27m, leaving Celta with a  profit of €15m on a player who cost them €12.4m to sign from Groningen in 2022.

He was considered Luís Campos’s ‘biggest gamble’ during his time in charge at Celta but it’s one that has proven to be right with time.

_“My goal is to find young talents around the world who can be sold in the future for much more money, so we can buy better players the following year to build bigger teams,”_ Campos is quoted as saying.

Celta are now set to benefit from his foresight, with a deal already in place with Wolves and a €15m profit set to wing its way to them at some point this summer as the striker’s loan at Molineux becomes permanent and everyone celebrates.
