**West Ham currently see Daizen Maeda as a consideration this summer, it has been reported by ExWHUEmployee.**
As the club gets set to enter a vitally important summer transfer window, Graham Potter and his Head of Recruitment Kyle Macaulay are narrowing down on their key targets for the window, with an overhaul of the side expected as Potter shapes his vision for West Ham.
It has been widely reported in recent weeks that Celtic striker Maeda, who has scored 33 goals this season for the Scottish Premiership champions, is a top target for our Hammers.
However, reporting this week on The West Ham Way Podcast, our club insider ExWHUEmployee has advised that he is in fact only under consideration at present, with others ahead of him as a potential striker to bring to east London this summer.
“I can confirm that we do like Celtic striker Daizen Maeda,” stated Ex. “However, this interest at present is purely one of consideration.
“He is not considered a priority with other players ahead of him as targets for Graham Potter. West Ham though have sent scouts to see him, so our interest could develop further.”
As was exclusively reported exclusively by Ex back in February this year, Celtic forward Daniel Cummings had signed a pre-contract agreement with the club, with the player set to be confirmed as a West Ham player this summer.
“We advised that a deal was already in place to sign Cummings,” added Ex. “The player was seen at the final home game of the season at the London Stadium last Sunday to support this.
“Cummings has been told he will have the opportunity to impress and push for a place in the senior squad under Graham Potter, but he will of course need to prove that he’s ready to challenge at that level.”
