Atlético Madrid look like they want to spend big this summer, and it would appear their attention is once again turned towards the Premier League. They’ve been pursuing Tottenham’s Cristian Romero for months, and this week have been linked to Aston Villa’s Emi Martinez, with Diego Simeone thought to be a fan of both.
Now, Los Rojiblancos have turned their attention to Liverpool.

First contact is said to have been made, although it’s not made clear if that contact was with Liverpool or the Uruguay international’s agents. Perhaps it’s the latter, because Sport go on to say the forward would be ‘delighted’ to join the Spanish side.
That’s no surprise, if he’s to leave Liverpool then a move to Atlético Madrid looks like a great step for Darwin Núñez.
Liverpool are said to be against a move, although that could be a bargaining position from the Premier League winners.
