Brighton make contact to sign player – Willing to offer more than €12.5m and present profit

Last month, Brighton were linked with a move for Juventus’ Alberto Costa.

While Fulham were also mentioned as candidates along with a host of other European clubs, the Seagulls seem to be making more in-roads as part of their move for the defender.

Gazzetta dello Sport have reported today that Brighton have come forward for Costa and so have Benfica and Galatasaray.

Costa is starting to impose himself at Juventus and the outlet believes that despite showing encouraging signs, the full-back can still depart in the summer transfer window.

Juve paid €12.5m to sign the Portuguese defender in January and Brighton are willing to offer more than that for a summer transfer. That’s if the repeat Italian claims about Fabian Hurzeler’s side are correct.

The player has started the last two games for Juve under Igor Tudor, at right-back and right wing-back.

For now, the Old Lady are not inclined towards selling the defender, although the right offer can force them into changing their stance and their presence in the Champions League can also be a determining factor.
