I’ve spoken highly of Maher Carrizo for a while now. Vélez’s academy producing another exciting forward.

Now reportedly being looked at by Man City, Arsenal, Man Utd, Wolverhampton and Southampton.

I’d personally love to see him go to Brentford, very good fit in Frank’s system. https://t.co/34rNbrbhpo pic.twitter.com/DuGJiTO0GH

The Etihad Stadium club have already met with his representatives, and Sarsfield are open to a deal if his €16 million release clause is met by suitors.

The Red Devils could do with such a talented youngster within their ranks and they should not hesitate to explore signing him.

Carrizo has impressed in the Copa Libertadores this season, weighing in with four goals and an assist in five appearances having also completed seven key passes and 16 out of 32 attempted dribbles.

The versatile forward can play on both wings, with his finishing, dribbling, pace, technique, close control and athleticism key traits which have endeared him to suitors across Europe.

The likes of Rodrygo and Vinicius Junior managed to hit the ground running at Real Madrid after leaving South America as youngsters, and Carrizo could be next to follow in their footsteps.

Man United have to be smart when they go about their recruitment this summer having wasted plenty of money in recent windows on big-money additions that failed to impressed, and they may now need to go after shrewd acquisition capable of turning their fortunes on and off the pitch around.
