Judging by the reaction on social media, football fans aren't too impressed by Sky Sports' broadcast selections for the final day of the season.

With the league title already decided and relegation more or less a formality for a number of weeks now, there's only really the race for Europe to play for across the English top-flight.

The top five will get Champions League football, while sixth and Crystal Palace will make the Europa League after the latter's FA Cup win, and seventh will qualify for the Conference League.

And yet from Man City in third to Nottingham Forest in seventh, there's only a three-point gap.

As a result, the race for continental qualification is going to come down to the final day of the season.

As such, there has been a fair amount of disappointment online after Sky announced that they would only be showing one game from the four that have teams in that race facing off.

Liverpool have already sealed the Premier League doing so back in April with their season more or less already wrapped up

After beating Tottenham at Anfield in April the Reds won their 20th English top-flight crown

The champions will take on Oliver Glasner's FA Cup-winning Crystal Palace on the final day

Instead, Sky will be showing Liverpool vs Crystal Palace, in addition to Chelsea vs Nottingham Forest, the winner of which will likely finish in the top five.

Liverpool's season was more or less finished last month when they secured the Premier League title, and Crystal Palace can only move from 12th to ninth in the table on the final day.

Meanwhile Man City (68 points), Newcastle (66), Chelsea (66), Aston Villa (66) and Nottingham Forest (65) are the teams with everything to play for, and only one game of the four has been picked.

A number of fans have slammed the decision, calling it 'madness' only one match from the European race is being shown by the country's leading sports broadcaster.

'How on earth all the Champions League chasing teams are being aired is madness,' wrote one.

Another added: 'Nobody cares about Liverpool vs Palace. Newcastle game or Villa game had to be the ones.'

A third said: 'Shambles. Champions League places up for grabs and you're showing a meaningless game instead.'

One suggested another broadcaster might look to another game, stating: 'Let's hope TNT pick up the Newcastle match because there's something in that game to make it exciting! Ridiculous from Sky Sports.'

One slammed Sky as a joke of an organisation: 'A nothing match like Liverpool Palace meanwhile the fight for Champions League places gets ignored.

'Typical of Sky. No wonder people are leaving in their droves and watching alternative way. Joke of an organisation.'

And one concluded: 'Bizarre choices... you'd think Villa and Newcastle games.'

As ever, all 10 games will be broadcast simultaneously on Sunday, each kicking off at 4pm across the country.
