Newcastle have joined the summer transfer battle to sign Ipswich Town striker Liam Delap, talkSPORT has revealed.
The Magpies are reportedly due to hold talks with the in-demand English striker this week after he was granted permission to travel for conversations with interested Premier League clubs.
Delap is one of the hottest names in the market at the moment and has emerged as a striker target for both Manchester United and Chelsea.
The 21-year-old forward is expected to depart Ipswich following their Premier League relegation and has a £30m release clause.

According to talkSPORT, Delap will hold face-to-face discussions with all of his suitors before making a decision on his next career move.
The 'unbelievable' England U21 international’s stock is high after his impressive debut Premier League season, where he netted 12 goals and provided two assists in 36 appearances for the Tractor Boys.
Delap is believed to have already met with Man United representatives and will also speak with Chelsea and Newcastle chiefs over a potential summer move.
While he is reportedly preferring a move to Old Trafford at the moment, United’s chances of landing Delap may hinge on whether they are able to overcome Tottenham in Wednesday’s Europa League final in Bilbao.
Newcastle want to add another striker to Eddie Howe’s squad this summer, with Callum Wilson expected to leave when his contract expires next month.
The Magpies have relied heavily on Alexander Isak up front this season and are on the lookout for a new number nine to complement the Sweden international, who has scored over a third of their Premier League goals this term.
