Manchester City took just 1.5 minutes to open the scoring, thanks to Fujino. The team started the match strong, fast-paced and quick to exploit the absence of the offside rule. It was immediately clear that the style of play suited Kerolin well. She was dominant in the 1v1 and doubled the lead for City in the 5th minute following a corner. Another short corner was played to Fujino, who cut back to Kerolin in the box; her shot landed in the far corner.

FC Rosengård were pinned back in their defensive third for most of the first half, struggling to win possession or intercept passes. They grew into the game slightly as the half progressed, earning two corners, but they were unable to find the net before halftime.

The Swedish club had to overcome a 2-0 deficit and immediately tested Keating in the first minute of the second half. The goalkeeper did well to stop a powerful shot. Moments later, Kerolin charged toward the Rosengård goal, beat her defender, and calmly slotted it home.

Cumings made two important saves to deny Poppy Pritchard, but City extended their lead with a fourth goal. Blindkilde Brown found Oyama near the edge of the box, and she fired it into the back of the net.

It was an exciting, action packed game. Manchester City start strong, while FC Rosengård needs to go back to the drawing board for now. The Swedish club plays Bayern Munich tomorrow. Meanwhile, City will face off with the Dutch club Ajax.
