Anthony Davis and Jason Kidd were huge contributors to the most recent Los Angeles Lakers championship. The big man and the coach were members of Frank Vogel's team that beat the Miami Heat in the 2020 NBA Finals at the Walt Disney Resort.
With Davis playing a key role on the court, Kidd helped Vogel from the sidelines. Five years later, they are together again, but fighting for a different cause.
"AD" was part of the shocking Luka Doncic trade to the Lakers ahead of the deadline. The big man was sent to Dallas alongside Max Christie to start a new chapter in his career.
He's once again joining forces with Kidd, while the Lakers are just another opponent.

The pair has made its return to Los Angeles to attend a special draft event. The Klutch Pro Day in the city reunited executives, coaches and other NBA figures to watch high-profile prospects. ESPN's Jonathan Givony and Dave McMenamin shared material showing important people going to LA, including Pat Riley and Nico Harrison.
More than that, Davis, a Klutch Sports client (wearing a Mavericks hat), and Kidd were also spotted at the Lakers' practice facility.
At the start of the 2024-25 season, it would have been crazy to think that Davis would enter that facility repping another team's colors. He only played a handful of games with Dallas, but has already embraced the franchise.
While the Lakers advanced to the playoffs as the No. 3 seed in the West, the Mavericks couldn't move past the play-in tournament.
The jury is still out on who won this blockbuster trade, but the drama and tension that seeing Davis or Doncic having a minimum interaction with something related to their former teams always draws attention.
