As the football season draws to a close, Graham Potter is expected to be one of the busiest Premier League managers this summer transfer window.
West Ham have already confirmed the departures of Aaron Cresswell, Lukasz Fabianski, Vladimir Coufal and Danny Ings at the end of the season, while we can also expect to see a few more faces out the door in the summer, meaning recruitment is inevitable for the Hammers.
Niclas Fullkrug and Michail Antonio’s futures at the club remain uncertain, making the centre-forward position in desperate need of reinforcements after a season lacking in goals.
Meanwhile, Nayef Aguerd is reportedly looking to leave following his loan spell at Real Sociedad, leaving the defence requiring additional recruitment, with just Maximilian Kilman, Konstantinos Mavropanos and Jean-Clair Todibo as the only first-team centre-backs.
Hammers eye up two European stars
A forward West Ham have reportedly shown interest in is Chelsea’s Christopher Nkunku, according to The Sun.
The 27-year-old signed for the Blues in the summer of 2023 for a fee of £52 million from RB Leipzig following an impressive spell for the German side which saw the Frenchman rack up 125 goal contributions in 172 games.
Nkunku has struggled to hit the ground running in the Premier League since his arrival, however, scoring just six goals in 38 league games.
The player is currently estimated to be worth just under £38 million and can play as an attacking midfielder or centre-forward.
Having struggled for regular game time in West London, Nkunku could be set for a summer departure, and Potter is eyeing up a move to bring him to East London.
West Ham have also expressed an interest in signing Inter Milan centre-back Yann Bisseck, according to Caught Offside.
The 24-year-old has played 26 games for the Champions League finalists this season in all competitions, but consistent regular game time has been an issue for the German, meaning we could see the player move on this summer.
The 6’5 defender is currently valued at around £25, and for a player that already has a wealth of Champions League experience at a young age could make him a smart signing for the Hammers should they manage to get the player to put pen to paper.
