Abdoulaye Doucoure is set to leave Everton and there are a host of clubs, including Leeds United, keen on his services.
As his contract is running out, the Toffees do not stand to make anything from his exit this summer.
They have announced that he will be leaving the club, so there’s no short-term contract that could lead to a transfer fee.

German and Turkish clubs now keen on Doucoure
According to TEAMtalk (21 May), the Mali international is demanding high wages at whichever club he moves to next.
It’s understood that he wants around £160k/week – something that makes it almost impossible for Leeds to sign him.

However, this would be in the range that Saudi Pro League clubs can offer him, making a move to the Middle East on the cards.
Now, it’s also understood that there are clubs in Germany and Turkey willing to take a punt on him.
Despite being 32, an argument can be made that he’s still got a few more years left in the tank.

Everton will not particularly miss Doucoure’s services
Losing Doucoure could be a blessing in disguise for Everton, despite missing out on a transfer fee.
At 32, Doucoure’s performances have been inconsistent, with his goal-scoring and defensive contributions waning in the 2024/25 season, failing to justify his £160k-per-week wage demand.
His departure frees up significant financial resources, allowing Everton to invest in younger, more consistent midfielders who better suit the system.
While a transfer fee would have been ideal, shedding Doucoure’s high wages provides flexibility to make shrewd acquisitions.
David Moyes will seek midfielders who combine physicality, versatility and technical nous to fit his pragmatic 4-2-3-1 system.
He’ll target high-energy, box-to-box players aged 24-28, capable of defensive work and attacking contributions.
Cost-effective signings with Premier League experience, offering consistency and adaptability, will be key to bolstering his squad’s competitiveness.
By prioritising players with hunger, longevity, and tactical fit, Everton can rebuild their midfield to sustain their Premier League survival push, turning Doucoure’s exit into a strategic opportunity for squad improvement.
