Bruno Guimaraes has featured in an emotional video in which his family and friends tell the story of his career, which you can watch in full below.

Captain Bruno has never been shy in showing his raw emotions. A passionate man on and off the pitch, the 27-year-old’s joyful reaction post-match at Wembley as he wrote his name into the club’s history books was a perfect example.

The journey he has been on with Newcastle alone. From relegation battle, to Champions League, to Carabao Cup champions, is enough alone to bring the emotions on – but with reflections going right back to his time in Brazil, you get a stronger view of the sacrifices Bruno made with support from those he cherishes most.

Bruno and his family are without a doubt adopted Geordies and the emotion shown in the video sums up the connection we’ve built with the man himself.

Watch below as the Brazilian’s family and friends tell the story of his career via some secret footage:

A real tear-jerker of a video showcases the special person, not just the special player, that the Toon Army have come to love of Bruno and rolls the years back to the beginning of his journey when he left home at 15 to pursue his career as a professional footballer and beyond.

“I don’t care what other people think of me, what I have of most value is inside my house,” Bruno said in clip. “My father, my mother, my wife, my children, my friends. These people who appeared \[in the video\], just as they are fundamental to me, I am fundamental to them, I think this exchange is wonderful.”

If Bruno Guimaraes left Newcastle United tomorrow he would do so as a club legend, but the Brazilian is showing no indication of wanting to rush out of the exit door after helping us end our trophy drought.

Bruno is already looking ahead to next season and is not satisfied with just a Carabao Cup, he wants to add more to our trophy cabinet and went on the record to say so.

In a recent interview with Sky Sports, he said: “I’m very happy. When we won the cup, it was nice. Seventy years was a long time. I think everyone enjoyed it a lot. The parade was crazy but, for us, it’s not enough. For me, it’s not enough. I want more.

“The most difficult thing is always the first step and we did the first step. Now we want more. We want to qualify for the Champions League. We want to win more things next season.

“The project is showing what we are trying to do. It’s making history for this club so I’m very excited for the future of this club.”
