Tottenham Hotspur head coach Ange Postecoglou has pinpointed the threat of Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes ahead of tonight's Europa League final.
Fernandes has been selected to start in the centre of midfield by United head coach Ruben Amorim this evening, meaning he will operate next to Casemiro in the engine room.
The United skipper has operated as a No.10 in recent weeks, with Casemiro developing a strong midfield bond with Manuel Ugarte in the centre of midfield in each of the last four Europa League games.
However, Mason Mount has been selected to operate as one of the two No.10s this evening, joining forces with Amad to support Rasmus Hojlund up front.
Nevertheless, Fernandes, who has scored seven goals in the Europa League this season, has demonstrated countless times that he can pull the strings from a deeper position.
And in the opinion of Postecoglou, the United captain will have to be monitored closely by his players.
"He is one of those players who, in big games, in moments, that can change games," Postecoglou told TNT Sports. "He is that player."
"At the same time, we have got to try and overwhelm him in a collective way, not on an individual basis. That is the key to our approach today."
