Kevin De Bruyne has ruled out joining Liverpool this summer, having reportedly dismissed the idea of transferring to another Premier League team.
The midfield maestro bid farewell to Manchester City supporters at the Etihad on Tuesday evening, following his final home match before his departure in the summer. The Belgian star has clocked up a decade with City since his move from Wolfsburg in 2015.
Come April, it was out in the open that he wouldn't be getting a fresh deal from the club, leaving De Bruyne, 33, gobsmacked by the decision, despite his injury woes and slump in form this season, as City have ended up empty-handed.
The bombshell set tongues wagging about a jaw-dropping switch to the newly minted Premier League champions Liverpool. The Reds' talisman Mohamed Salah then chimed in on the buzz, reports the Express.
The Liverpool goal machine said: "I want to tell him congratulations on your career. He's done a phenomenal job at City, and he was great for the league." Laughing, he added: "I really wish him the best and we have a space for him."

However, according to the Telegraph, the six-time Premier League winner has ruled out staying in the UK. He's said to have made his mind up to move abroad, and has already taken part in talks with Serie A side Napoli.
The veteran star has been linked with a move to America with MLS side Chicago Fire. A mega money offer from Saudi Pro League outfits are also thought to be on the table.
But in his farewell speech after City's 3-1 win over Bournemouth on Tuesday, the midfield marvel declined to speak about his next move.
De Bruyne said: "I wanted to play with creativity, I wanted to play with passion. I wanted to enjoy football, and I hope everyone enjoyed it.
"Everybody has pushed me so hard inside and outside the club to be the best version of myself and these guys in front of me have made me better than I was before.
