PSG Come From Behind to Beat Benfica at World Sevens

Benfica lost their opening match 2-1 to Paris Saint-Germain at the [World Sevens Tournament](https://womenfootball.blog/world-sevens-tournament-information-teams-and-where-to-watch/), despite opening the scoring through Lara Martins. Benera levelled for PSG and Dorsin scored the winning goal in the second half.

The first big chance fell to PSG, but Benfica’s goalkeeper stopped the initial shot, and the rebound went over the cross bar. As expected, both sides were still getting used to the 7v7 format, but it did not take them too long to find the back of the net.

In the 7th minute, it was Benfica who opened the scoring. Catarina Amado cut back to Lara Martins on the edge of the box and her shot flew into the top bin. There was no time to look away as PSG levelled immediately through Benera.

Lena Pauels, Benfica’s goalkeeper, made multiple great saves to keep her side level in the first half – as PSG adjusted better and faster, getting into the final third more.

After an action packed first half, the teams failed to build on that momentum in the second half. In the 23rd minute, PSG takes advantage of a poor clearance from Martin-Prieto, with Dorsin scoring to make it 2-1 for the French club.

Benfica looked tired in the final five minutes. PSG was mostly in control, and there were little to no offensive efforts from the Portuguese club. The match ended in a 2-1 win for PSG.
