Manchester City, Manchester United, Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain came out victorious, but with two games still to go, anything can happen. Manchester City opened the World Sevens Tournament (W7T) with a dominant 4–0 win over FC Rosengård. Adapting quickly to the fast-paced, no-offside format, City scored early through Fujino, followed by goals from Kerolin and Oyama. Rosengård struggled to gain control, spending much of the match defending. Despite a brief push early in the second half, they couldn’t break through City’s defense. Kerolin’s second goal and Oyama’s late strike sealed the win. Manchester City next face Ajax, while Rosengård will look to rebound against Bayern Munich.
Manchester United edged out AS Roma 3–2 in a thrilling World Sevens Tournament opener. The match began with both teams adjusting to the format. United capitalised on a defensive error in the 12th minute, with Bizet scoring from a rebound. Two minutes later, Toone doubled the lead with a precise finish. Roma responded before halftime as Giugliano broke through to pull one back. In the second half, Giugliano equalised with a stunning long-range shot. However, Clinton restored United’s lead shortly after. Despite late pressure from Roma, United held on for the victory.
Ajax fell 4–2 to Bayern Munich in their World Sevens Tournament (W7T) opener. Ajax started well, with Lotte Keukelaar scoring early, but Bayern equalised after a goalkeeper error. Bayern then took the lead through Viggósdóttir’s right-footed strike from a corner. In the second half, Hansen and Dallmann added goals to extend Bayern’s advantage. Ajax pulled one back late via Lily Yohannes after a defensive mistake. Bayern also received the tournament’s first yellow card for excessive celebration following their fourth goal.
Paris Saint-Germain vs. Benfica

Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) secured a 2–1 victory over Benfica in their opening match at the World Sevens Tournament. Benfica took the lead in the 7th minute when Lara Martins capitalised on a cross from Catarina Amado. PSG responded swiftly, with Benera equalising shortly after. Despite several key saves by Benfica’s goalkeeper, Lena Pauels, PSG gained control in the second half. In the 23rd minute, PSG capitalised on a defensive error by Martin-Prieto, allowing Dorsin to score the decisive goal. Benfica struggled to mount an offensive in the final minutes, and PSG maintained their lead to clinch the win.
