Kendrick Perkins Makes Clear Knicks-Pacers ECF Prediction

The New York Knicks are enjoying one of their best of the last quarter of a century. They'll face a tall task in the Eastern Conference Finals when they take on the resilient Indiana Pacers.

Neither team's road to this point was easy.

The Knicks defeated both the Detroit Pistons and the Boston Celtics in six games. Meanwhile, some argue that the Pacers had a relatively easy road because they faced teams with major injuries in the Milwaukee Bucks and the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Kendrick Perkins gives his Knicks-Pacers prediction

While members of the Cavaliers were hampered by injuries, they were still out there for the most part, and the Pacers can only play who is in front of them.

On Wednesday morning's edition of "Get Up" Kendrick Perkins says he believes in Jalen Brunson to get the job done.

"Jalen Brunson is ready for this. He's been ready for this," Perkins said. "Brunson was hurt last year, he's not injured this year. He's the best player in the postseason right now."

Following his praise of Brunson, Perkins got specific with his pick for the Eastern Conference Finals.

"I'm telling you right now, the Knicks are going to win in six," Perkins said. "I don't care about all the full-court pressure. Big body Brunson is going to handle his business."

This sets up yet another matchup of the storied "Hicks versus Knicks" rivalry, which dates back to the early 1990s.

While the Pacers have the all-time edge, having won five of the eight playoff series, the Knicks hold a 2-1 all-time edge when a trip to the NBA Finals is on the line.
