After a Premier League season to forget, Manchester United had been hoping for a Europa League campaign to remember, but it wasn't to be.

Despite their club's domestic difficulties, fans travelled to the Spanish city in their thousands to be there for the final.

United remained unbeaten in the Europa League ahead of Wednesday’s final against fellow Premier League strugglers Tottenham, with Champions League qualification and silverware on offer.
