Manchester United player ratings: 3/10 duo 'not good enough' and only one 6/10 in Tottenham defeat - gallery

Manchester United were uninspiring as they lost 1-0 to Tottenham Hotspur in the Europa League final to confirm a trophyless season and no Champions League football. Brennan Johnson scored the only goal to decide a scrappy clash in Bilbao that was tense and low on quality.

Ruben Amorim made one change to his starting line up as Leny Yoro replaced Victor Lindelof in central defence against Tottenham Hotspur. Spurs were the better side in the first-half and led at the break when a combination of Brennan Johnson and Luke Shaw bundled the ball over the line.

United were the better side after the restart and almost equalised when Rasmus Hojlund saw his header cleared off the line by Micky van der Ven, before Bruno Fernandes headed wide of goal. They continued to push in the dying moments of the match but were unable to find anyway through a resolute Tottenham defence. Here is how we rated the United players in Bilbao:

An unconvincing performance in the United goal and he did not command his box well enough for the opening goal.

1. Andre Onana - 5

He lacked match sharpness and made some sloppy mistakes. Grew into the game as it went on and nearly equalised.

2. Leny Yoro - 5

A few good pieces of no-nonsense defensive play but he could have done better to defend the opening goal.

3. Harry Maguire - 5

Not good enough from him. He was sluggish from the start and way off the pace throughout.
