The last time the Indiana Pacers and New York Knicks faced on another in the Eastern Conference Finals was 2000. The rivalry blossomed between the Knicks and Pacers in the 1990s, when Reggie Miller and Patrick Ewing were among the league’s brightest stars.
Now those bright stars are Jalen Brunson and Tyrese Haliburton. Two highly skilled point guards in two very different ways have a chance to lead their teams to the NBA Finals. The Pacers have never won an NBA Championship, the Knicks haven’t since 1973.
Indiana beat the Knicks in the second round of the playoffs last season in six games. The Knicks only have two of their five starters from last year, making for what should be a much different series.
