Manchester United head coach Ruben Amorim now has to deal with the fallout from Europa League Final defeat.
The numbers behind Manchester United’s season are a total misery. 16th in the Premier League, and 0 trophies.
This final statistic could have been changed to ‘1 trophy’ if United had beaten Tottenham in the Europa League Final.
This did not happen, with Tottenham winning the game 1-0, with United unable to break them down.

Manchester United scoring troubles hurt
Scoring goals has been the big problem for Manchester United this season. It was an issue in 2023-24, and has got worse in 2024-25.
In the Premier League, United have scored only 42 goals in 37 games, with a negative goal difference of -12.
And while goals have flowed a little easier in the Europa League, Manchester United came up against a Premier League opponent in Tottenham Hotspur.

Manchester United had chances to score against Tottenham. Amad should have scored to open the scoring in the first half.
Rasmus Hojlund saw a header cleared off the line, while Alejandro Garnacho and Luke Shaw forced two good saves late on.
But you do not win games with near-misses, and in a final, only the losing team remember the chances that do not go in.
Manchester United have now failed to score a goal in 270 minutes of football, following a 2-0 home defeat to West Ham, and a 1-0 loss at Chelsea, added to this 1-0 agony against Spurs.
This is the major issue United must solve, that becomes a lot more difficult without a Champions League budget.
Ruben Amorim may not recover
When Manchester United appointed Ruben Amorim, we hoped he would be here for the long haul. But nothing is guaranteed in football.
This result followed a pattern of results that show Amorim has been unable to transform Manchester United into winners.
It’s all on next season for Ruben Amorim now, who will not have European football as a distraction.
Winning the FA Cup did not save Erik ten Hag when results took a sour note early this season, and we all know what happened to the last United manager to lose a Europa League Final.
Despite having a solid body of work behind him, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer did not recover from the negativity that the penalty shootout loss to Villarreal sparked.
United have now hit rock bottom, and a dark cloud now hangs over the club.
Supporters and the board will get behind Amorim for the summer. But if next season serves up more of the same, we would not be betting on him hanging around.
